Ok…This part of the article was hard for me to take – because in a way it seemed like they are placing some of the blame on the victim. Seriously, we all remember high school – what boy or girl was not trying to please the opposite/same sex? “The 15-year-old victim was a vulnerable girl who attended church and wanted to be a police scout, but also worried counselors by trying too hard to please the school’s bad boys.”
As someone who went to school in the area – same school district – I know this school well. I have friends from high school that have gone on to be teachers there. Richmond was always known for being one of the areas you avoided if you were alone – and that was more that 15 years ago. It makes me sad that 15 years later, the problems of Richmond rages on – and who knows how much longer even before that….
An interesting read – I am not going to insert my personal comments because people might think that I have, as C.W. Nevius said, “…have axes to grind.”Really I don’t…because I believe everything happens for a reason and if things did not work out the way it did – I would not be were I am now…
Those of you know me, know my personal opinion of Gavin and my professional opinion about Gavin. If you don’t – let’s have coffee and we can talk.
