Richmond gang rape seen as nearly inevitable

Ok…This part of the article was hard for me to take – because in a way it seemed like they are placing some of the blame on the victim.  Seriously, we all remember high school – what boy or girl was not trying to please the opposite/same sex?  “The 15-year-old victim was a vulnerable girl who attended church and wanted to be a police scout, but also worried counselors by trying too hard to please the school’s bad boys.”

As someone who went to school in the area – same school district – I know this school well.  I have friends from high school that have gone on to be teachers there.  Richmond was always known for being one of the areas you avoided if you were alone – and that was more that 15 years ago.  It makes me sad that 15 years later, the problems of Richmond rages on – and who knows how much longer even before that….

An interesting read – I am not going to insert my personal comments because people might think that I have, as C.W. Nevius said, “…have axes to grind.”Really I don’t…because I believe everything happens for a reason and if things did not work out the way it did – I would not be were I am now…
